Happy Friday, my freelance friends!

As you read this, I’m doing one of my favorite things: strategic planning with a cool e-commerce company called Canvas. Think, the circle lamp with iPhone clip of your dreams.

If you’d tapped poet Austin on the shoulder, circa 2007, and told him he’d actually look forward to spending his time this way, he would have quoted T.S. Eliot at you:

January is the cruellest month, breeding Profits out of the digital land, mixing Strategy and desire, stirring Dull roots with winter rain.

Or something like that.

We’re all still figuring out what we’re surprisingly good at, what we surprise ourselves by enjoying. While we’re exploring those possibilities, we need to cozy up to trusting people and avoid the big talkers and big takers.
